Texas, September 26, 2026 – Meta Platforms has delivered its strongest monthly rally in more than a decade, with shares soaring 36% in September 2026.
The surge, reminiscent of its 2013 breakout, has reignited investor optimism and placed the company within striking distance of a US$2 trillion valuation.
The rally comes after a turbulent year in which Meta’s stock had fallen 18%, underscoring the dramatic reversal powered by its artificial intelligence strategy.
At the heart of this momentum is Muse, Meta’s personal AI assistant, which quickly climbed to the top of app charts and reassured investors about the company’s aggressive spending on artificial intelligence.

The launch of a palm sized Muse device and camera free smart glasses further expanded Meta’s consumer reach, signaling its ambition to dominate the next wave of AI driven interfaces.
Partnerships with Instacart and Expedia have also broadened Muse’s utility, embedding the assistant into everyday commerce and travel planning.
The rally was further supported by Meta’s settlement of a long running social media lawsuit, agreeing to pay up to US$18 billion.
By removing a major legal overhang, the company cleared a path for investors to focus on growth prospects rather than litigation risks.
Analysts at JPMorgan highlighted “meaningful upside potential” as Meta expands AI applications beyond advertising, while others noted the company’s ability to deliver “above-market growth at a below-market multiple.”
Financially, Meta’s trajectory is both impressive and concerning.
Revenue is forecast to rise 26% this year to US$254 billion, with net income expected to jump 33% to US$80.6 billion.
Yet, the company’s capital spending is projected to double to US$140 billion in 2026 and climb further to US$197 billion in 2027.
This unprecedented investment threatens to erode free cash flow, which is expected to swing from US$46 billion last year to a negative US$6.4 billion this year, and deeper losses ahead.
The sustainability of Meta’s rally hinges on whether investor enthusiasm for AI can withstand the weight of such spending.
Analysts warn that the company remains vulnerable to pullbacks if sentiment shifts, particularly given the “sugar rush” effect of new AI catalysts.
While Meta’s scale and early success with Muse provide a competitive edge, rivals are racing to capture consumer attention in the same space.
Meta’s September surge reflects both the promise and peril of its AI gamble.
The company has proven it can excite markets with innovation, but the true test lies in whether its massive investments can translate into durable growth without exhausting its financial foundation.
